LCB Construction Ltd, United Welsh Housing Association and the Welsh Procurement Alliance (WPA) Work Together on Wesley House
Amongst the a variety of different frameworks and DPS’ WPA offer its clients, is the Whole House Refurbishment (WH) DPS. WPA's fully compliant Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) is an open market solution designed to provide buyers with access to a pool of pre-qualified suppliers in respect of building works, goods, and services for use in public sector refurbishment and maintenance. The duration of the DPS is for four years with option to extend for an additional four years, up to a maximum of eight years.
The Whole House Refurbishment (WH) DPS allowed for WPA to work closely with LCB Construction Ltd and the United Welsh Housing Association to achieve successful building works and refurbishment on Wesley House, located in Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale. LCB Construction Ltd was founded over 12 years ago, and was established to provide excellent contractor services within the public buildings, social housing, and local authority buildings maintenance sector. Partnered on this project with the United Welsh Housing Association, who are proud of their not-for-profit status, which allows them to provide homes and related services in South Wales. They are passionate about providing homes, along with supporting the local communities within them.
WPA assisted United Welsh late last year, reviewing the existing tender documents, running the mini competition, and assisting with the evaluation and award to the successful contractor LCB construction. The building works at Wesley House, which are now complete, have transformed the communal areas in to a bright, welcoming space with new dining and kitchen facilities for the residents to enjoy for years to come.
Andrew Hamar and Ibrar Mian from WPA, along with Sanni Oladimeji Salisu and Daniel Crowley visited the newly refurbished Wesley House in Ebbw Vale recently to celebrate the project’s success and view the final outcomes. The refurbishment of Wesley House included many structural and internal changes, such as improvements to the communal corridors across three floors, decoration to all surfaces and the renewal of existing ceilings. Additionally, the project covered improvement to the stairwells, bathroom, and communal lounge.
