Graig Trebanos Community Hub - Tai Tarian
WPA is delighted to support Tai Tarian’s community vision by awarding them £17,000 from our Community Benefit Fund for the ambitious Graig Trebanos Community Hub & Garden project. Tai Tarian combined this year’s £7,000 allocation with an additional £10,000 from their previous 2021/22 grant, which had been returned unspent, enabling this impactful investment in the local community.
The Graig Trebanos Community Hub & Garden, launched in Autumn 2021, is transforming the former Graig Chapel Hall into a vibrant community hub and garden. Led by Gellionnen & Graig Unitarian Church and driven by chapel members, local volunteers, and groups like My Green Valley, the project works closely with Ysgol Trebannws, local councillors, and residents to create a shared space that serves everyone in the community.
The £7,000 grant will go towards essential upgrades to the front area of the site, addressing safety concerns by rebuilding a manhole, repairing a stone wall, and installing a wooden fence. The remaining £10,000 will fund a complete electrical rewire of the hub and a full kitchen refurbishment, ensuring the space is equipped to support a variety of community activities.
Since work commenced in August 2023, the project is progressing steadily, with monitoring set for next year. We look forward to seeing the Graig Trebanos Community Hub flourish as a vital resource for the entire community!
