Tai Gogledd Cymru / North Wales Housing - Bamford Doors

Andrew Hamar, of The Welsh Procurement Alliance, kindly publicised the competition on our behalf, to their framework members, which caught the attention of Tai Gogledd Cymru / North Wales Housing.
Tai Gogledd Cymru / North Wales Housing currently has around 2,500 homes spread across Gwynedd, Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, and Wrexham are known to be the regional leaders in assisting vulnerable people.

An application was entered by Kerry Jones, Communities Manager, for a supported living property in North Wales. The scheme, which comprises of 4 two-bedroom flats is occupied by young single parents, who have been referred by the local authority. The residents require supported accommodation when they are starting out as young parents with vulnerabilities. The flat is often their first home, alone with their child and most come from complex housing situations. Some residents may have experienced domestic abuse and need support to build skills to live independently, whilst learning new parenting skills.

After evaluation of the entries to the competition, the Directors of the three companies decided that the scheme was in desperate need of a new communal security door, access control and door entry system. The existing communal door to the property, could be easily forced open, compromising the security and left residents feeling vulnerable, insecure and at risk.

Bamford Doors gave away and installed one of their bespoke aluminium security door sets. CAME KMS donated the web-based access control and Entrotec the door entry (intercom) equipment, with Baydale Control Systems providing the labour and commissioned the system. Angela Croghan, Asset Management Surveyor said, “The door set looks very robust and modern & the change is remarkable! The complete access control and door entry system is very easy to administrate by our housing staff and provides security and peace of mind for the young families living there. I would like to thank all companies involved who have donated their products and time.”

Tim Rogers Sales Director for CAME KMS and Helen Phillips Sales Director of Entrotec both expressed, “it’s been a real pleasure to provide the equipment to such a worthy cause, knowing it’s made a real difference for the residents to feel safe in their accommodation.”
