WPA Supports Care & Repair Cymru Shoebox Christmas Gift Appeal
WPA are proud to have supported the Care & Repair Cymru Shoebox Christmas Gift Appeal, an initiative that helps bring comfort, kindness, and festive cheer to older people across Wales.
For many elderly people, Christmas can be a particularly difficult time of year. Feelings of loneliness and isolation are often heightened during the festive period, especially for those who live alone or have limited social contact. Care & Repair are helping to address this through their Shoebox Gift Appeal, providing thoughtfully prepared gift boxes filled with practical items and seasonal treats. These small but meaningful gestures remind recipients that they are valued and remembered.
Care & Repair Agencies cover every part of Wales and are led and supported by Care & Repair Cymru. Their work enables older people to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes, while initiatives such as the Gift Box Appeal play an important role in supporting wellbeing during the winter months.
Volunteering and community support are at the heart of WPA’s values. Through our volunteering initiatives, colleagues are encouraged to give back, support local communities, and make a positive difference to the lives of others. Supporting appeals such as this reflects our commitment to social responsibility and working together to help those most in need.
